A very special and old candle lantern, known as a Fourgon Lantern, featuring a side‑mounted candle holder. Reportedly Swiss and used by the Swiss Army. The “glass” was originally made of Cellon, an early type of plastic, but the material currently installed is likely from a later period.
Fourgon is French for wagon or cart; this type of lantern was often hung from the shaft of a vehicle.

Excellent for use as a decorative lantern or as a beautiful addition to any collection.

Dating: Unknown, estimated 1930s/1940s.
A regular candle is currently included. Originally, the lantern was designed for a 25 mm candle, so the candle sits a little loosely. However, it is held in place by a small aluminium candle holder.
